A resourceful professional with more than 42 years of progressive experience as a senior lecturer in the higher education field, and more than 12 years of experience as Head of Business School at APIIT Sri Lanka until 2019. Having completed his first degree in the field of Economics at Peradeniya University in 1979 he joined NIBM as a Lecturer and progressed to the Director Management Development at NIBM, where he served until 2007.
He obtained a post graduate diploma in Regional Industrial Development in 1984 from RVB in the Netherlands and a post graduate diploma in Economics from the University of Colombo in 1985. He obtained his master’s in economics in 1992. He has participated in a number of training workshops abroad and has also contributed his services as a Management Consultant during his career at NIBM.
During the period 2001 to 2003, he had the opportunity to work as the Deputy Director – Monitoring & Evaluation and Management Information Systems in a World Bank funded project implemented by Ministry of Housing and Plantation Infrastructure.
His areas of specialisations are in the fields of Economics, Statistics, Data analytics, Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, Project Management, International Business, Human Resource Management, Computer Applications in Business, Productivity Improvement, Training and Development.
