The APIIT Pathway to a Deakin Business Degree
Deakin University, Australia and Asia Pacific Institute of Information Technology (APIIT) Sri Lanka offer a unique 1+2 pathway to a Deakin Business Degree.
On completion of the 1st year of study in the BSc (Honours) International Business Management degree at APIIT Sri Lanka, students may apply to transfer in their 2nd year to complete a Bachelor of Commerce OR a Bachelor of Business degree at Deakin University, Australia.
Deakin’s globally accredited Bachelor of Commerce degree will develop your passion for commerce and build your skills around financial acumen, market knowledge, and management and professional issues, enabling you to unlock creative solutions for the everyday, practical challenges of modern organisations. Students will be able to develop their professional expertise in one of the following majors:
- Accounting
- Economics
- Finance
- Financial planning
- Food and agribusiness
- Human resource management
- Management information systems
- Marketing
To complete the Bachelor of Commerce, students must attain 24 credit points. Applicants successfully completing the 1st year of study in the BSc (Honours) International Business Management degree at APIIT Sri Lanka will be eligible to receive exemptions for up to 8 credit points (equivalent to 1 Year of study) depending on the major sequence chosen.
Deakin’s Bachelor of Business degree will equip you with the general business skills and experience you need to work in a range of sectors and succeed in the business world. Students will be explore emerging and innovative business trends and develop valuable soft skills through personal development by majoring in one of the following areas
- People management
- Event management
- Project management
To complete the Bachelor of Commerce, students must attain 24 credit points. Applicants successfully completing the 1st year of study in the BSc (Honours) International Business Management degree at APIIT Sri Lanka will be eligible to receive exemptions for 8 credit points (equivalent to 1 Year of study) to undertake one of the three majors listed above.
The APIIT Pathway to a Deakin IT Degree
Students may apply to Deakin’s Bachelor of IT degree on completion of the 1st year of study in the BSc (Hons) Computer Science degree at APIIT Sri Lanka to complete a Bachelor of IT Degree at Deakin University Australia”
If you study a minimum of 16 credits over two years at Deakin in Australia, you will be eligible to apply for Post-Study work rights, under current Australian government rules, to work in Australia for two or three years (depending on your Deakin campus location), after you complete your degree
